So, things have been crazy for me recently. If you hadn't noticed, I haven't posted in quite sometime on here. I had to shut down Heelvixen.com. Terribly saddening for me to have to do, but it was the right thing.

What happened essentially is the following. My success actually ended up being my downfall on the project. I worked with various suppliers to get me the heels I needed. These suppliers would list a product as being available, and ready to be sold. So...I sold it! In fact, I made some pretty good headway on sales in the first couple of months. But then it all started falling apart.

My suppliers could not accurately tell me what they had in stock. In fact, the vast majority of the time, something listed "available" was sold out. So a customer paid me, the sale happened, everything was happy...except the product they bought didn't exist. This meant I had to now process a refund for something I listed as being available, making people unhappy, and costing me huge amounts of money and time.

I always took care of the customer, and refunded every penny, apologized, and even on occasion offered additional discounts next time for the hassle. This was not sustainable though long term. More often than not, products I was selling were simply not in stock- regardless of whether the supplier could verify stock or not. After about 3 months of this, I had to make a choice. Keep banging my head against the wall, trying to figure something out, or put the whole thing on the back burner. I decided it wasn't worth the amount of time and energy i was investing, not to mention money- just to have to tell someone I didn't have what they wanted, disappointing everyone in the process.

I have enjoyed being able to let all the stress go, but I won't lie- letting this go was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I'm currently taking a hiatus from any significant projects, but I'll gear up again sometime. And who knows, maybe even Heelvixen.com can come to life again someday. At this point though, it has been laid to rest. Thank you to any and all who checked out the site, and lent support in any way.
